Nanotechnology

Nanotechnology is the science of making machines out of molecules. These three paintings were inspired by some of the first experiments in this field. DNA was made into a cube, so that it could potentially be used as a scaffold onto which molecular machines could be mounted. Although it seemed at first like a science of the distant future, it now looks as though these machines will become a reality in our lifetime
